When downloading and installing the setup of SocketPro, I get an error and the installation is being rollback.
I get the error: "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as excepted. Contact your support personnel or package vendor".
I'm running Windows XP and Visual Studio 2008.
I did log the complete installation, so if you want the logfile, drop me an e-mail. |

Hi, Pieter:
The installation problem may happen if you installed a previous version of SocketPro and did not uninstall the previous version before installing the current version of SocketPro. It seems to me that our SocketPro installation is messed up with your machine.
To solve this problem, you can simply copy all files and sub-directories in the directory C:\Program Files (x86)\UDAParts\SocketPro into a new directory right before the installation is being rollback.
Next, you can manually register COM dlls for both 32- and 64-bits, and distribute server dlls for both 32- and 64-bits into system directories as described at this site http://www.udaparts.com/document/articles/getstarted.htm but this is easy.
Note that you can run both 32bit- and 64-bit dlls at the same machine and the same time in parallel.
